OCTOBER – GETTING BACK TO WORK!

Down here October means the start of the new season… SNOWBIRD SEASON,  that is! They start migrating down here again, so we all have to get back to work! Most of us can't wait to get back to the hustle and bustle of the holidays, the awesome rush of activity after the holidays when we are in "high season" (Jan-March) and of course the PAYCHECKS!! Lol, yes we all miss those! Don't get me wrong- a lot of us work during the summer, but for the most part we work very little compared to season, and the pay reflects that.

Even though summer is slow season and it's exciting to go back to work, I will absolutely miss this! I had a GREAT summer! Rest, relaxation, and fun took priority! We explored some of the local beaches, went out to eat, did some shopping, and I was very happy to have company a few times as well! They seemed to enjoy some of the local wildlife….

People from out of town don't always see loads of turtles, rain barrels with tree frogs, pilings with pelicans, or osprey and huge fish in their back yards! And that's just the tip of the iceberg!

I also showed them around my area……

We enjoyed the beach, snorkeling, a boat taxi to the restaurant, the gorgeous sunset down here, and so much more! Yes, I am truly learning how to unwind and relax. And the funny thing is, "they" are right; you think you don't have time for it, but when you do make the time to "stop and smell the roses", you feel better, you are more focused and creative- so when you work, the quality and imagination are much better! I know I felt my creative energy was really increased this summer, I am loving the new work I've done- and I enjoyed doing it! I am absolutely loving my new workshop! The space and the light in there is awesome! One project I did was to add some dimension to my display with a few new mannequins and busts; this is a better flow for the eye I think. Another one of the projects I completed was a new banner depicting the method of lapidary I use to create my jewelry.

I also finished cutting and polishing the rough material I had for larimar! So here is a preview of the pieces that I finished, and I am in the process of wire wrapping a few more. I don't have much of this material, so come take a peek soon! Come see me at a show to see all the new pendants I created over the summer, and the FEATURE CASE!

Next project will be to "catch up" on my website listings! I've got to get them on the web now! I also opened the new Etsy shop under —

terristreasures4etsy – so see if you can find me there, and I will be adding to that site as well! Always more to do! I know I will miss the leisurely pace of summer fun, but never fear- I am already making my plans for next summer! And I am looking forward to going back to the markets to see all the familiar faces and testing out my new designs!

Until next month,
