SEMI-PRECIOUS GEMSTONE STAUROLITE;
Natural staurolite crystals that “twin” to form a perfect cross are very rare. This is the higher quality Russian material. The mineral is a light brown color in a matrix of silvery white schist. Also known as “fairy crosses” because it is told that when the fairies saw Christ crucified, their tears fell and became crystal crosses. These gems are highly prized.
