Pyrite is also called fool’s gold; the stone is a pretty common iron ore- except in certain forms. This is a rare formation of pyrite called a pyrite sun! They are only found in one location in the world! These glittery, shimmery flat little disks of pyrite are found deep down, on a vein of coal, it is thought that the pressure where they are found is so strong that it flattened the crystals and gave them a striation effect. They look like tiny suns, with rays of light, and boy do they shine and sparkle in the sun!!!
